Colton Caver

Coach Caver is a native of Gulfport, MS where he played baseball all four years of high school. After High School Coach Caver player 2 seasons at East Mississippi Community College where he earned all conference honors both seasons. After his two seasons at EMCC he played two seasons at Mississippi College where he started every game his Junior season. Over 4 years of playing college baseball Coach Caver complied a .310 batting average and a .994 fielding percentage. After his playing days Coach Caver made a stop to his old stomping grounds as an assistant coach at East Mississippi Community College. The next two seasons Coach Caver was and assistant varsity coach at St. Patrick Catholic High School. Coach Caver is now back home at Gulfport where he coaches the hitters for the varsity program. 

Max Bartlett

Max Bartlett graduated from Starkville High School in 2013. He played at Gulf Coast State college; Panama City, FL for 2 years. He was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in 2014. Played at the University of Tennessee for 2 years. Max signed with the Kansas City Royals, in which he played for 2 years. In 2019, he became an assistant under Thomas Berkery at Starkville Academy. In the summer of 2019, he served as the associate head coach for the San Francisco Seals in the California Collegiate League. In August of 2019, he became an assistant and camp coordinator under Michael Avalon and Pearl River Community College.

Jonathan Parker

Jonathan Parker began his coaching career at Gulf Coast, having been hired in August 2019. He’s a New Orleans native who has won an NJCAA championship playing in the MACJC.

Parker started his collegiate career playing two years at Jones County in 2016-17, where he was team captain twice and helped lead his team to the NJCAA Division II national championship as a freshman and MACJC champion as a sophomore.  Parker was named MVP of the national championship team and was on the All-Tournament Team. Parker went to Louisiana Tech for his junior season and started 16 games while playing in eight others. His senior season he finished at Southeastern Louisiana University and  saw him bat .268. Parker graduated with a bachelor’s in general studies and a minor in business and marketing.

Kreg Garner

Kreg Garner is from Brandon, Mississippi and a graduate of Northwest Rankin High School. He is the son of Scott and Rhonda Garner.

Kreg played baseball at Pearl River Community College for 2 years and then transferred to Belhaven University.

Kreg was a student athlete at Belhaven University and graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor's Degree in Sports Administration.

He has been coaching catchers and hitters at Meridian Community College for the past two years.

 

Blaine Crim

Blaine Crim was a 4 year starter at Mississippi College. He is the career record holder in doubles, hits, at bats, games played. 2019 GSC player of the year. 19th round draft pick. 2019 Northwest League  MVP. 

Kirk McCarty

Kirk McCarty if from Hattiesburg, MS but currently resides in Gulfport. He is a graduate of Oak Grove High School and The University of Southern Mississippi. While at Oak Grove, he won two baseball state championships in 2012 and 2014. Kirk was a starting pitcher for the Golden Eagles from 2015-2017 before he was drafted in the 7th Round of the 2017 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians. 

 

Kirk was entering his 3rd full season with the Indians Organization before COVID-19 put the season on hold. 

Josh Larson

Coach Larson is in his 5th year with the Oak Grove Baseball Program. He played football and baseball at Oak Grove and was a part of the 2007 State Championship Team.

Coach Larson graduated from Oak Grove in 2009.  He later received his bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Mississippi State University.  Coach Larson teaches Physical Education at Oak Grove Primary.
